Uma Tadikonda, a junior, has been selected to participate in "A Day with the Doctors"
sponsored by the North Louisiana AHEC and
LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine.
This program is an educational opportunity for students to explore health careers. Uma Tadikonda was selected based on her interest in pursuing a health career, her academic accomplishments, and successful participation in other AHEC health career enticement and training programs. Only 60 students from northeast and northwest Louisiana (21 parishes) were selected for this unique opportunity.
CEDAR CREEK STUDENT EXPLORES U.S. NATIONAL SECURITY DURING FALL FORUM
Trevor Holden, Cedar Creek 11th grader, recently attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security in Washington, D.C. The program allowed Holden the opportunity to explore careers in American diplomacy, intelligence, the diplomatic corps, and defense.
The curriculum for the Forum on National Security is based on actual world events. Throughout the program, students use critical thinking, leadership and public speaking skills to tackle the complexity of national decision-making as they examine how the U.S. plans for peace and prepares for crisis.

The National Geography Bee had 29 students in grades 6 - 8 to participated. The finalists were:

2nd place - Brandon Carroll
1st place - Collin Moak
Collin will now take a written exam in hopes to qualify for state competition.
Lauren Yepson and John McCallum have been named State Finalists
in the Wendy's High School Heisman Program.

National Achievement Scholarship Program semifinalist.
Ben serves as the senior class president and
is a member of the Cougar Varsity Football and Track team.

John McCallum, Cedar Creek School Student Council President, has been named a Samsung American Legion Scholar. With this honor, McCallum receives a scholarship that may be used for undergraduate study in the United States. McCallum is the son of Deanna and Jay McCallum. He represented Cedar Creek School and Louisiana at both Boys State and Boys Nation this summer.
