ABOUT CEDAR CREEK SCHOOL
Cedar Creek School is an independent, co-educational, college preparatory school that was founded in 1970. Located in north Louisiana, the campus has a student body of approximately 700 students in pre-K through 12th grade. There are a total of 59 seniors. Students are drawn to Cedar Creek from rural communities, small towns and mid-sized cities from seven parishes and one other state by the school’s reputation for academic excellence.
ACCREDITATION AND MEMBERSHIP
Cedar Creek School is accredited by the State of Louisiana and both the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools and the Southern Association of Independent Schools. The school holds membership in The College Board, the Louisiana High School Athletic Association and Independent School Management.
CURRICULUM AND GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Cedar Creek School offers an expanded college preparatory curriculum. Twenty-four and a half credits are required for graduation (2012) in the following subject areas:

Foreign Language 2 credits (3 or more urged)

GRADE AND RANK INFORMATION
All students take seven courses each year. Cumulative grade point averages are based on annual grades. The annual grade is computed by combining quarter grades with semester exams.
Cedar Creek School does not rank its students, rather a quartile is determined, based on all students and on all subjects. All subjects are college preparatory. Grade point average is weighted. Honors, Advanced Honors, and Advanced Placement courses receive an additional weight.
