The Cedar Creek Cougar basketball team welcomes back 11 members of its varsity team from last season led by Seniors Anthony Russell and Levi Songer.  Russell, the team’s leading scorer, was a 1^st Team 2-1A All-District player last season as well as a member of the All-Lincoln Parish and All-Northeast Louisiana Teams.  Songer, who received a District 2-1A Honorable Mention, is the team’s leading rebounder.  Other members who return a majority of starting experience are Junior PG Tucker Smith, District 2-1A Honorable Mention, Junior PF Chris Feron, and Sophomore SG Shilo Perry, as well as Junior guards Ryan Dwyer and Jeff Carroll.

The Cougars’ schedule will prove a test as they have 10 teams on the schedule that made the playoffs last season including new district member Grambling, a participant in last year’s Top 28.  The Neill Killgore tournament participants, will be posted in October.
