Cedar Creek Senior Jordan Cole officially signed today to play golf for Hinds Community College. Jordan’s successful golf career so far has included playing in 116 tournaments in the past five years. Of those, he has placed in the top five 65 times and won 17 of them. He has represented Cedar Creek on the Varsity Golf Team since he was in the 7th grade. Four of those times, Cedar Creek has won the state championship.

State Championship for 4 consecutive years.
  They have won 6 of the last 7 years, and 8 since 2000. 

All 5 golfers qualified for the Division V All-State Golf Team:

Brandon Newton finished 1^st overall for the 4^th consecutive year

Jordan Cole finished 2^nd overall

Scott Barron tied for 3^rd after regulation play,
but finished in 4^th place after a “Sudden-Victory” tie breaker that went to a second hole.

Matt Moss and Johnny Maxwell tied for 8^th place overall

Newton, Cole and Barron have been invited to play in the LHSAA Tournament of Champions at Tamahka Trails in Marksville, LA.  The top 4 finishers at each of the 6 Divisional State Tournaments are invited to compete as individuals at this 18-hole championship match. 

Brandon Newton won the Tournament last year.

In 2010, all 5 members of the Cedar Creek state team played in the LHSAA Tournament of Champions.  Cedar Creek is the only school in the history of this tournament to qualify all 5 players in the same year. 

Barron was named to the Academic All-State Division V Golf Team
