The Cedar Creek gymnastics program started in September 2006. The class began as a tumbling class and has developed into a full gymnastics program. Twenty-two gymnasts ages 3-12 participate in the program that includes learning the foundational skills of gymnastics, as well as, flexibility, dance and pose. The program consists of eight week sessions that culminate with skills tests. Each gymnast is awarded for his/her accomplishments. Cedar Creek follows the USA Gymnastics Federation curriculum: levels 1-10. Cedar Creek coach Claudia Cecil is certified by the USA gymnastics Federation and is also a certified personal trainer. The program also has two assistant coaches: Roy Peregrina and Justin Stoppleworth. Cedar Creek team levels 1-5 will compete in October of 2007, when the gymnastics competition season begins in the State of Louisiana. The Cougar Firecrackers will compete in all four events: floor, beam , parallel bars and vault. Cedar Creek team members are Hannah Stadius, Harlie Robinson, Jessi McIntosh, Annamarie Farra r, Karleigh Williams, Virginia Grace Mills, Irene Hild, Julianne Brown, Logan Brown, Halie Robinson, Audrey Taunton, Martha Mills, Alese Goodyear, Rachel Pardue, Maggie Manning, Carley Bowman, Christelle Emanuel, Haley Gray, Lauren Wade, Lauren Houch, Ann-Marie Fortenberry, Melisa Riggle, Kay-Lynn Klug, Halie Chandler, Karlie and Amber Stevens. In the month of January the booster club for the gymnastics program were selected. They are Mrs. Romaine Farrar, Mrs. Patricia Emanuel, Mrs. Kathy Robinson, and Mrs. Lisa Chandler.
