Congratulations to Cedar Creek seniors Bailey Anne Adams and Hayes Andrew Bridges on being named National Merit Semifinalists. Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest-scoring students in each state. Bailey Anne, the daughter of Jody and Emily Adams, and Hayes, son of Reggie and Leslie Bridges, are among approximately 16,000 students who have advanced to this level. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million. Finalists are chosen after they submit a detailed scholarship application, in which they provide information about their academic record, participation in school and community service activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment and honors and awards received. They must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school and be endorsed and recommended by a high school official. Cedar Creek is proud of your hard work and dedication.
